The second biggest clan is the Nekomei. Although they are almost tied with the Iruka for size, they marginally grasp the silver medal in terms of numbers. They live farthest from the sea, on the edge of the swamp bordering the Poison Nation by where the Red River feeds the swamp.
Their true claim to fame, however, comes from their ability to take on the form of large cats. Most appear as panthers, although a few may appear as a tiger or other large cat. Playful and vain, perhaps to a fault, they tend to enjoy showing off.
The clan is split into the main house, surnamed Nekomei and the Waifuu branch family.
Their taijutsu is noted for its beauty and showcases flexibility as well as strength. It is similar in many ways to the Brazilian art form known as Capoeira, but the Nekomei themselves refer to it as Dancing. Still, Nekomei training churns out many of the village’s most devastating unarmed fighters.
Nekomei genjutsu tends to dazzle or entrance, often even attracting instead of repelling the attention of the target.
Their Clan Head is Oyabun Nekomei, and Mai Waifuu of the 4 Swordsmen is a member of the most widely recognized branch familiy of the Nekomei.
